In a normal year, I spend about 200 days on my boats. And in a normal year, whether I’m on the water or not, I use two types of footwear 99% of the time.
Specifically, I am either in Xtratuf boots, or flip-flops (see review here). True story - ask my wife.
And while I am not a woman, in “Xtratuf season” which for me is from about mid October to mid June, I primarily wear the Women’s Legacy Clog. They are perfect for my charter days where I am on the boat all day. I find them to be comfortable, sturdy, non-slip and they do not leave marks on my boat.

Aside from rain, I sometimes get a bit of water on my deck coming up through the scuppers, as well as the spray and extra water from using the wash down hose - none of which is ever enough to warrant higher boots, so these rubber clogs fit the bill well. And even on my dry-land days, I personally find these clogs to be very comfortable, easy to walk in, and as I live on the west coast where rain is always a possibility, not having to worry about a little water here an there is exactly what I want in footwear (hence the flip flops as well…).

During this time of year, if I am planning on getting off my boat for any reason, like into my tender, onto a beach, or to our cabin, etc, I will switch to the Ankle Deck Boot simply as I will be dealing with a bit more water than on my boats, so the extra height of the ankle boot comes in handy. In addition, I have found that the flatter, no-heel, deck-type sole on the ankle boots work a bit better for cruising around on slippery rocks on the shoreline and in wetter intertidal zones.

For the 1% of the year I am not in Xtratufs or flip-flops, I am in waders - which is another review altogether….
